To get us started and make it happen, Take the Reins Youth Stable for Life needs….You!
Your Support is Vital!Take the Reins Youth Stable for Life is unique in central Indiana. Other equine programs in our area may focus on a special target population, have minimal or basic youth and horse interaction, and may even run the program on a fee for service basis. Typically a comprehensive equine program such as ours is seen as being only for people of means. For the under-resourced and low income youth of central Indiana, Take the Reins is a free program. TTR youth are investing in their own lives to become productive citizens, and you are KEY to helping them fulfill their mission! There are many ways you can help us move forward with our mission. You can volunteer in more ways than you can imagine! But for now, please consider supporting Take the Reins by donating to help us move through our three development Phases.

Phase 1: Launch 45KGetting Take the Reins Up and Running - Summer Camps are Key!
Phase 1 will last from two to three years and summer camps will be introduced to our Program's full development. The middle school youth who have been in the program will have forged theProgram's cirriculum and be ready to lead and mentor new and younger students. Summer camps will continue to play a key role as we transition to the year round full program (Phase 2).Phase 2: Operational CampaignStaffing and Operating The Full Program
Phase 1 summer programs will serve to develop and drive Take the Reins towards becoming a year round program that will coincide with the school year. As we add additional staff and volunteers, Take the Reins will begin to expand the equine program to include both more offerings and to a wider age range of students (ultimately ranging from 8-18 years of age). Older students who began as 11-15 year olds in Phase 1 will now be able to take on mentoring and leadership opportunities. Career staffing and volunteer positions will support our expanding program in both equine and educational support.Phase 3: Bring It Home CampaignA Capital Campaign For our Home Base
Ultimately, the youth of Indianapolis will have their equestrian endeavors and education support needs best met in a facility located in their city. The seeds of our capital campaign will begin during Phase 2 and as soon as a top notch staff of dedicated equestrian and education support people are in place and ready to make it happen.
