Sara Omohundro
Sara Omohundro serves as Chair of the Board of Directors. She is currently an Investment Strategist at Goelzer Investment Management, and previously worked in investment roles at the Indiana Public Retirement System and a venture capital firm. She is also the founder and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Women Investors Network.
Sara graduated with an M.S. in Economics from Purdue University, a B.S. in Economics from Butler University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Sara is a lifelong horseperson and enjoys riding and showing her horses Felix and Melvin in the hunter/jumpers.
Abaigeal Musser
Abaigeal Musser serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors. An Indianapolis native, Abaigeal is a practicing attorney and Senior Counsel in the Litigation Practice Group at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where she advises and represents companies in a wide range of corporate litigation matters.
Abaigeal earned her bachelor's degree from Butler University and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law.
Committed to serving her community, Abaigeal has long been passionate about volunteerism and has dedicated her time to numerous charitable organizations throughout the Indianapolis area.
A lifelong equestrian, Abaigeal has been passionate about horses since childhood. In her free time, she enjoys riding and showing her horse, Nico, and spending time with her friends, family, and (most of all) her dog, Sophie.
Bret Horsfield
Bret Horsfield serves as the Treasurer on our Board of Directors. He is currently an Associate Partner, Wealth Advisor at Corient. Prior to this role, he has worked at JP Morgan Chase and Oxford Financial Group to round out his 16+ years serving his clients in the financial industry.
Bret earned the CFP certification in 2018 and is proud to serve his clients in providing retirement, estate and tax planning strategies. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance and Economics.
He is a husband, girl dad, and an avid golfer.
Christa Moncrief
Christa is a 25-year member and veteran of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, in which 15 years have been on patrol and 7 years as a detective specializing in property crimes and burglary. She is a graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in Exercise Physiology. She began her career after graduating in corporate wellness.
Christa personally started her equine career at just 8 years of age and horses have remained a part of her life ever since. She is a competitive English Jumper rider and personally owns and cares for her own horses.
While with the police department, Christa has spent time with the Mounted Unit, where she saw firsthand how powerful the bond between horse and rider can be. Throughout her career, she has learned how to listen, build trust, and show up for people when it matters, especially in neighborhoods that need it the most.
Christa believes that every child deserves the chance to experience horses. Introducing inner-city youth to the world of horses and teaching them to care for these animals and build trust in the saddle can change how they see themselves and what is possible for them.
She is proud to help Take the Reins carry that mission forward. And Take the Reins is grateful for her help, too!
